In 1992 I read a small article in the local paper about an organization called Guiding Eyes for the Blind looking for volunteer puppy raisers. It took me all of about 12 seconds to decide to call the number and for the next 8 years I raised and socialized puppies as potential Guide Dogs (part of the story behind the 'Blindogg" moniker).
