Every Pin Has a Story

The Adventures of Penelope Anne, Holy Cow Canvas, Map, Dog, Golden Retriever

This map holds more than 190,000 miles of my life — and every one of those miles has a story behind it.

My journey started when I was just nine weeks old, with the 1,010-mile journey that brought me home to Dad. That was mile one of an adventure neither of us could have imagined.

Since then, Dad has kept track of the miles that take us out into the world. When we leave home on one of our extended adventures, every mile counts until we return. When we're home, everyday driving doesn't count — a road trip has to take us more than 60 miles one-way to become part of my adventure miles.

The pins are earned the same way. Dad's feet and my paws have to touch the ground. We don't count a place because we drove through it. We count it because we stopped. We explored it. We were there.

Some pins mark places everyone knows. Others are little towns, back roads and hidden places we never expected to find. But every one of them represents a moment in our life together.

Somehow, Dad and I can turn even the most ordinary moments into an adventure.

Through my eyes, you'll discover the places we explored, the history we uncovered, the people we met, the things that made us laugh, and what life on the road was really like for Dad and me.

Then we started wondering... what if these pins could tell their stories? That's what the interactive map below is all about.

Go ahead. Pick a pin. Let's see where it takes you. 🐾

OUR INTERACTIVE MAP IS COMING SOON

“1,387 places. 48 states. 2 countries. And a whole lot of stories.”

We're building something special — an interactive map where you'll be able to follow our adventures one pin at a time, discover the places we've explored, and open the photos, stories and videos behind them.

Dad's still building the map. I just keep giving him more places to add.
